Our Local Hometown Charity
Brain cancer claims the lives of more children than any other childhood cancer. The Violet Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer seeks to change that. Founded in 2022, the Violet Foundation strives to raise and provide greater resources and support for scientific research and clinical trials, specifically focused on improving survival rates for pediatric brain cancer patients. Sadly, only 4% of federal funding allotted by the U.S. goes toward pediatric cancers—the Violet Foundation has committed itself to addressing this issue head-on.

Three-year old Violet Napleton was a smart, sassy, fun-loving little girl who was diagnosed with the deadliest form of pediatric cancer, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), in 2021.
She had a brave spirit and an unwavering fight that inspired those around her, particularly her family. To honor Violet's memory, they are now devoted to the mission of finding a cure for DIPG and other pediatric brain cancers. The Violet Foundation invites all to take inspiration from Violet's fight and join them in their efforts to end this type of cancer once and for all.
The Violet Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Violet Foundation was developed by the Napleton family in remembrance of Violet, who passed away not too long after she was diagnosed with a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) tumor -- a form of brain cancer that has less than 1% survival rate and no effective treatment. The Violet Foundation's complementary mission is to support the families of pediatric brain cancer patients in every way they can. Many parents are forced to continue working to pay the bills and keep insurance active while simultaneously supporting their child and coping with their own emotional experience. The Violet Foundation seeks to ease the burden placed on these families during this incredibly difficult time.
Napleton's Schaumburg Subaru has proudly donated $234,860 to the following Hometown Charities during past years of the Subaru Share the Love® Event.
