What is a fully electric vehicle?
A fully electric vehicle, also commonly referred to as an EV, is a type of automobile that operates entirely on electricity, rather than relying on gasoline or diesel fuel like conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
How do electric vehicles work?
EV vehicles are powered by one or more electric motors, which convert electrical energy from a battery into mechanical energy to drive the wheels. The range refers to how far the vehicle can travel on a single charge. Unlike hybrid vehicles or traditional cars, fully electric vehicles do not have an internal combustion engine. What does MPGe mean?
MPGe stands for Miles Per Gallon Equivalent. It is a measurement used to compare the energy efficiency of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles with traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. In simpler terms, MPGe tells you how many miles an EV or hybrid vehicle can travel using the same amount of energy that would be produced burning one gallon of gasoline. For example, if an electric vehicle has an MPGe rating of 100 MPGe, it means the vehicle can travel 100 miles using the same amount of energy as 1 gallon of gasoline.
How do you charge an EV?
